To the editor:

Recently, my family experienced a random act of kindness, and I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the people involved. Last week my daughter’s bird got outside and flew away. We searched for the bird, but to no avail; she was gone.

This week, I opened the newspaper and in the lost and found section was an ad for a found cockatiel. Imagine my surprise! I called the number and spoke with Sara. She found the bird at Raintree Montessori, and rather than keeping it for herself (being an animal lover), she brought the bird to me.

I am extremely grateful and so proud of this young lady for her upstanding behavior. I hope her parents are proud of her, too. She was very kind, and I can tell our bird was well taken care of while at “Camp Sara.” So, again, thank you to Sara and her family. Lawrence is a great place to live because of people like you.
