Lawrence Police said Friday that in the past 24 hours they’d handled:
- 285 calls
- 27 reports
- one burglary
- seven thefts
- four non-injury accidents
Burglaries and thefts reported
- Quick Cash, 1401 W. Sixth St., reported that someone cashed three forged business checks worth $6,081. The forgeries happened Sept. 17, but weren’t reported until Monday.
- Two 19-year-old Kansas University students told police someone stole a $1,850 Gateway laptop computer and other items valued at $900 from their apartment in the 4700 block of West 27th Street. The theft happened between noon and 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.
- Someone stole a French horn and case valued at $4,360 from an unsecured locker in Murphy Hall on the Kansas University campus. The theft happened between 3:30 p.m. Jan. 21 and 8 p.m. Sunday.
