Olathe ? Free State’s boys bowling team defeated Olathe Northwest, 2,669-2,616, Thursday.

Nathan Hardman bowled a 726 series to lead all bowlers. Jeremy Healy rolled 660, Kenny Altman 646 and Rich Altman 637.

Northwest topped the Free State girls, 2,010-1,901. Christina Bernhardt led the Firebirds with a 500 series. Dequesne Sprow rolled 494, Lindsay Vannicola 486 and Melissa Burnside 421.

The boys improved to 4-0 and the girls fell to 3-1.

Olathe Northwest took the boys JV competition 2,044-2,004. Ben Vansickle rolled 522. Northwest won the girls competition 1,388-1,305. Megan Wyatt had a 378 series to lead the Firebirds.

Free State will meet Olathe East on Tuesday at Royal Crest.

“The boys improved their high team score by 200 pins,” coach Chuck Tracy said. “The girls struggled a little today but came back hard in the third game.”
