Human needs

To the editor:

One question (more like a dream, I realize): Would our nation be more or less secure if the administration had not decided to invade Iraq, and instead, were now willing and able to offer the same financial and human resources to tsunami victims? No, we didn’t know this horrible event would strike (I mean the tsunami), but there are millions of ways to spread good will. There might even be some left over for needs closer to home, like homelessness, lack of jobs, lack of health care and underfunded schools and social services. Maybe Mr. Bush’s big corporate buddies would throw in their inaugural donations as well.
