Times change

To the editor:

With the states not knowing how to provide for children’s education and health care for the uninsured, I’m sure that this no-tax agreement for the American Indian casinos by the federal government should be rescinded.

I know it’s a contract with the American Indian nations, but first, it wasn’t reasonable. Times and needs change. Nothing’s written in stone. American Indians are part of the United States and get education and health care services from the states and should pay taxes like the rest of us who have businesses.

We read about how well the Indian casinos are doing and how the state can’t fund programs. The reservations are fine, but showing favoritism to the Indian nations is not. What other ethnic group is there like the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington?
