Not hateful

To the editor:

Not all who support the homosexual marriage ban are absorbed in hatred for homosexuals. I don’t feel that way at all; they are still people. Does that mean I agree with their lifestyle? No. I don’t agree with their lifestyle because it is unnatural and a sin.

Now before everybody starts screaming at me that I am a hate-breeding Christian, please back down. Not all Christians that support this ban should be lumped into the same category as Mr. Phelps. I completely disagree with how he portrays God and Christianity.

This whole movement is simply Christians finally taking action against the way our society is heading. The more you endorse a certain behavior, the more normal it becomes and the more society accepts it. This ban pushes back against a pro-homosexual society, and I support it. Homosexuality is a desire of the flesh. Please bear in mind Galatians 6:7-8: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth unto his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.”

Christians are merely trying to help guide society in the direction that reaps eternal life, not corruption. It is not a message of hate, but of love trying to protect people from going astray. I will not endorse homosexuality and make it acceptable and considered normal, when it is completely against God’s will.
