Investigation continues into Yellow House sales

Local and federal law enforcement agencies are still investigating allegations that a Lawrence business was involved in fencing stolen goods, Dist. Atty. Charles Branson said Thursday.

Branson said the investigation into Yellow House, a store at 1904 Mass., was “extensive” and involved “tens of thousands of dollars” in questionable sales made over the counter and on the Internet.

“The matter is under investigation. No charges have been filed,” Branson said.

Police said they recovered suspected stolen property earlier this month after they served search warrants at the store and at a home in the 1100 block of Andover Street. At the time, police said it appeared to be one of the largest, most sophisticated fencing operations they’d seen in Lawrence.

The store’s owners have denied wrongdoing.
