Organizers of this year’s Community Christmas Dinner put out the call Monday for frozen turkeys and canned hams.

“We need 35 12-pound turkeys and 30 5-pound hams,” said Kent Ely, one of the event’s coordinators.

Ely asked that would-be donors call him during the day at 760-2943.

“We’ll either come pick it up or they can deliver, whatever’s most convenient,” he said.

Now in its 12th year, the dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 25 at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt. The meal is free and open to anyone.
