Lawrence High’s Scott Penny and Brandon Lassiter and Free State High’s Brett Lisher all earned first-team Class 6A honors in all-state teams chosen by the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita Eagle.

Penny and Lassiter were tapped at linebacker and running back by both newspapers. Lisher was listed at wide receiver by the Topeka paper and at defensive back by the Wichita paper.

Penny, Lassiter and Lisher are all seniors.

In addition, Free State junior Ryan Murphy earned first-team honors from the Capital-Journal as a kick returner.

Lawrence High’s Nolan Kellerman (RB) and Nick DeBiasse (OL) were honorable-mention selections by both papers as were Free State’s Brian Murphy (RB) and Nick Ayre (WR).

Also, Ryan Murphy earned honorable mention in both papers as a quarterback.
