Applicants for dean openings are set to visit this month

Three more candidates for dean of Kansas University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are scheduled to visit this month. Visits from other candidates for dean of the School of Law have not been set.

Each candidate for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will appear at an open forum. Candidate information will be posted on the provost’s Web site, www.provost.ku.edu, the night before each visit. All forums will be held in the Kansas Union.

The next candidate’s forum is set for 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Alderson Auditorium. The third candidate’s forum will be from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Big 12 Room. The fourth candidate will be available from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 14 in the Big 12 Room.

Members of the search committee are Giselle Anatol, assistant professor, English; Ken Audus, dean, School of Pharmacy; Tom Laming, of Overland Park; Sue Lorenz, assistant director, Honors Program; Craig Lunte, professor, chemistry; Steve Munch, student; Joane Nagel, professor and chairwoman, sociology; Mabel Rice, director/professor of speech-language-hearing; Don Steeples, vice provost; Kathy Suprenant, professor and chairwoman, molecular biosciences; Bill Tsutsui, associate professor of history; and Vicky Unruh, professor of Spanish and Portuguese.
