Toys for Tots donations sought today at KU
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, anyone can drop off a toy or make a donation to the Douglas County Toys for Tots as part of the “Drive for 500.”
The event will be at the Dole Institute of Politics at Kansas University.
Toys for Tots organizers hope to collect 500 new toys and distribute them to area children. The event will include a free lunch at the institute, 2350 Petefish Drive, on KU’s West Campus.
People who donate a toy or money can register to win door prizes.
Live music from area bands will begin at noon, and Googols of Fun will provide children’s activities.
This is the drive’s third year. Last year, almost 600 toys were collected.
