Stay the course

To the editor:

It was good to see President Bush finally wake up and combat Democratic attacks about this just war in Iraq. It’s absolutely unbelievable that the Democratic Party foams at the mouth to see American failure so that they might attain power. If we leave in six months like Nancy Pelosi wants us to, we will have spit on the graves of our troops, shred the new Iraqi constitution, mocked their new freedoms, weakened our country and, most of all, abandoned a people in their greatest time of need.

War is hard, but leaving is the most dangerous answer to Americans and to Iraqis. We must stay the course; if we don’t, grave consequences will follow.
