Keep it local
To the editor:
Congratulations to the Kansas University football team for their win over Iowa State at “home”!
I live three blocks from the stadium and can listen to the game from the loud speaker system, plus the radio and TV. Can’t do that in Kansas City if the ‘Hawks are playing at Arrowhead! Bad idea!
After the ‘Hawks comeback victory, I was able to frequent several local establishments that were packed with people spending money, seeing friends and having fun “in” Lawrence. Support Lawrence businesses.
It appears the current administration at KU is only interested in dollars. Look at all the people they have on staff. An administrator for this and a director for that. It’s all about money. Bad idea!
What about the hometown and businesses that support KU? They lost, or did not make any money on the KU/Oklahoma game, but KU did – $1.2 million!
As the advertisements on Sunflower Cable say: “Keep It Local. Start here.”

Lawrence
