Sentencing postponed in apartment shooting

Sentencing was delayed Thursday for a 20-year-old Lawrence man convicted in a shooting last December at a local apartment complex.

Randy J. Johnson was due for sentencing on four counts of attempted second-degree murder for the Dec. 21, 2004, shooting at Boardwalk Apartments, 524 Frontier Road. But his attorney, Angela Stoller, said she needed more time to find a witness who will testify on his behalf at sentencing.

Judge Michael Malone postponed the sentencing until Dec. 15.

Malone also denied a motion by Stoller to give Johnson a new trial.
