Ottawa police search for gas station robber
Ottawa police want the public’s help identifying a masked person – possibly a woman – who robbed the Logan 66 gas station at gunpoint Wednesday.
The gas station, at 304 E. Logan in Ottawa, was robbed at 8:47 p.m., according to Ottawa Police Capt. Randy Allan.
Allan said a station employee reported to officers that a person entered the business wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded jacket and a black ski mask.
“The suspect pulled out a handgun and ordered the cashier to empty out his cash drawer,” Allan said. “The employee stated that (the) suspect’s voice sounded to be that of a female.”
Allan said the employee gave money to the suspect, who then left. No one was injured, Allan said.
The suspect was last seen getting into a white car at the intersection of Cedar and Powhattan streets, Allan said.
Allan asked anyone with information to call Ottawa Police or the local TIPS hot line at (888) 311-8477. Callers to the TIPS hot line may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
