Downtown shops to aid animal therapy group

Three businesses in downtown Lawrence will help raise money Saturday for Pathways Animal Assisted Therapy Inc., which helps people with physical and emotional problems.

Proceeds from the shops' efforts, which are being coordinated with the Old Fashioned Christmas Parade, will be used to help finance care of animals and scholarships for people who count on the animals for assistance.

Businesses and their fundraising efforts:

¢ The Blue Dandelion, 841 Mass., will offer gift-wrapping services.

¢ Stitch On Needlework Shop, 926 Mass., will offer hot apple cider.

¢ Crafty & Co., 918 Mass., will allow kids to design their own wrapping paper.

Pathways has operations at Echo Ridge Stables in Baldwin and Hill Top Arena in Atchison.
