Sad response

To the editor:

First let me give praise to the person that wrote the letter entitled "Not so noble." I think it is really sad in this day and age that our president has to hide from this woman that lost her son fighting to protect his rear from danger. I am not saying he does not deserve a vacation; what I am saying is no matter what he is doing he could take five minutes to have a one-on-one with this woman and give her the answers she needs to put some kind of closure to her son's death.

I am really sorry he cannot stand and be a man about this. What would he do if this were one of his children that got killed over there? He is being very cold-hearted about the situation. Her pain is very real; as a parent I feel for this woman. Her son is a hero in his own right. I am even sorrier Bush is at the helm of this great country. He even stands and calls himself a Christian; maybe he needs to ask himself if this is what God would do if he were in his shoes.

    Kevin,

Were you at the meeting between Sheehan and Bush? No? Then how do you know the tone of the meeting? Are you Sheehan? No? Then how would you know how she felt during the meeting? You are one for assumptions aren't you?

Sheehan's first meeting with Bush was staged and controlled by the Bush spin doctors. A meeting in which family members who just lost their love ones in a war really had not resolved anything. Bush needs to meet with her and give her the answers she needs. After all that is the only honorable thing to do.

Cindy feels guilty that she couldn't stop her son from joining. She needs to blame someone for his death and she certainly isn't going to blame herself. So of course lets' blame the Commander in Chief. The liberals are using her and will dump her once a new flavor (Bush Basher) of the month comes along. I'm sure that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have already dropped her like a hot potato so they can head over to New Orleans to stir up some trouble down there. Since Cindy is basking in the lime-light (I wonder what her son would think of her actions) she will soon find herself on CNN with a political talk show. Or she could team up with Babs, Teresa Hines Kerry, Martin Sheen, Jessica Lange, Rob Reiner and Susan Sarandon on the "Sureal Life 8" since she is the darling of all the left wing late night talkers, lets have her co-host with Jon Stewart or Bill Maher and she can bash away. Of course it will have to be scripted as she doesn't seem to think for herself anymore. Heeeeeeeere's Cindy! She is an insult to grieving war mothers everywhere.
