Bush values
To the editor:
I noticed from an Associated Press report (Journal-World, Aug. 21) that President Bush took the world-famous cyclist, Lance Armstrong, on a two-hour, 17-mile bicycle tour of this ranch. He also presented him a T-shirt emblazoned with “Tour de Crawford.”
By contrast, Bush could not find a few minutes of his vacation time to talk with Cindy Sheehan, whose 24-year-old son was killed in Iraq.
Actions speak louder than words, and this contrast between the time Bush had for the celebrated Armstrong as compared with Sheehan speaks volumes about Bush’s sense of values and his sense of compassion.
