Security Benefit Corp. plans to add 75 jobs to its business processing division during the next year, the Topeka-based company announced Thursday.

Security Benefit is adding the jobs to handle a new agreement reached with Allmerica Financial Life Insurance and Annuity Co., or AFLIAC. Security Benefit will provide business processing outsourcing for more than 200,000 clients who own variable annuities and variable universal life contracts.

The transfer of AFLIAC's contracts to Security Benefit is expected to occur by year's end, subject to regulatory approval, Security Benefit said. Financial terms of the deal with AFLIAC were not disclosed.

Security Benefit formed its business processing division in 2004, leverging upgrades in its information-technology systems
