KU graduates win NSF fellowships

Four recent Kansas University graduates have received fellowships from the National Science Foundation to study this fall.

The fellowships give up to $121,500 in support over three years.

The recipients and their new universities are:

¢ Sarah Feldt, May 2004 graduate in mathematics and physics, University of Michigan.

¢ Jesse Noffsinger, May 2005 graduate in physics, University of California-Berkeley.

¢ Katie Rose Mitchell-Koch, 2003 graduate in chemistry, who is transferring from the University of Michigan to KU for graduate work.

¢ Jennifer Sweeton, May 2004 graduate in cognitive psychology and French, Stanford University.

In addition to Mitchell-Koch, there are two new NSF fellows attending KU this fall. They are Jacob Esselstyn, in ecology and evolutionary biology, and Jeffrey Young, in electrical engineering and computer science.
