Homeless report to be considered

Lawrence City Commission agenda highlights ¢ 6:35 p.m. Tuesday ¢ City Hall, Sixth and Massachusetts streets ¢ Sunflower Broadband Channel 25 ¢ Meeting documents online at www.lawrenceks.org

Bottom line

City commissioners will consider formally adopting the report from the city’s Task Force on Homeless Services.

Background

Commissioners have discussed the report several times but have never adopted it. At a recent study session, commissioners said they would consider endorsing the task force’s ideas to address homelessness, but stopped short of saying city taxes should be responsible for funding the majority of the programs and improvements, which have an estimated price tag of $4.7 million.
