Montana Mike's Steakhouse will become a jail Thursday.
The restaurant at 1015 Iowa will be the location for this year's March of Dimes Jail and Bail fundraiser. Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., business, civic and community leaders will go through a mock court and a "judge" will sentence them to time in the jail after being fingerprinted, getting their mug shots taken and being issued a striped shirt.
The "prisoners" will then spend an hour working the phones and calling in contributions they have lined up for the March of Dimes to pay their bail.
The March of Dimes Jail and Bail event is an annual nationwide tradition that last year raised more than $4.7 million to help fight birth defects and infant mortality and reduce the incidence of pre-term birth.
