Rush on KU campus

Brandon Rush, a 6-foot-6 guard from Kansas City, started a two-day official men’s basketball recruiting visit to Kansas University on Sunday.

The trip was to conclude today.

Rush, who is ranked No. 13 in the country by rivals.com, made an official recruiting visit Thursday and Friday to Indiana University following a trip to Illinois.

Sources spotted the player Sunday afternoon in Lawrence, and it was confirmed to the Journal-World that Rush indeed was in town for what is believed to be his final campus visit.

Rush declared for the NBA Draft after averaging 21 points, six rebounds and five assists last season at Mt. Zion Academy in Durham, N.C.

After attending one NBA Draft camp and working out for several NBA teams, Rush pulled his name out of the draft.

Rush has said he had the grades and test scores to qualify for a scholarship. However, he has yet to be certified by the NCAA clearinghouse as the start of semester nears.
