The East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corp. has begun taking applications for back-to-school supplies.
Clients must meet federal poverty guidelines and set up an appointment by calling 841-3357 before visiting the ECKAN Center at 2518 Ridge Court.
Donations also are sought for the program. Supplies needed include No. 2 pencils, pens, notebooks, notebook paper, colored pencils, rulers, erasers, crayons and markers.
Donated supplies can be dropped off at the center.

Impose a county 5cent education fee on every soda pop sold in Douglas County to pay for supplies which the schools would distribute. Also help support athletic programs.
Impose a $25 education fee on all moving traffic violations,
$100 edu fee on DUI's and $250 edu fee on DUI's involving accidents to aid in supporting art, music and Vo-Tech programs.
