Inconsiderate

To the editor:

I should like to compliment the NASA people for having scheduled their shuttle take off (two weeks ago) and landing (Monday) so as not to interfere with the daily airing on television of "The Regis and Kelly Show" and "The Price is Right." Though I do not watch these shows, I have been informed by many of my senior citizen friends whom I try to help out (I, too, qualify as a senior citizen) that they were pleased at the courtesy extended them by NASA.

They are not, however, happy about the fact that President Bush, on occasion, interrupts the aforementioned programs for news conferences. Inconsideration of this sort is particularly disturbing, as Mr. Bush never speaks of the number of American children who have been killed since he initiated his attack against Iraq. One of your readers asserts, in her letter of July 16, that all is going well in Iraq. What would be her feelings if her own children had been sacrificed in such a manner?

Please let us end this indecent and immoral endeavor on the U.S. government's part.

Robert E. Anderson,

Lawrence

    Amen Mr. Anderson

Mr. Anderson, you are 100% right in your assessment of the events in Iraq. I hope the American people are finally seeing what the Bush administration is all about. Lies and deception, but since the majority of congressmen are republican, it seems to be alright to lie and deceit.

We can only write to our congressmen and tell them that we the people want to take to task what Bush is doing.

9/11 was a retaliation against our policies. The best way to not get another retaliation is to stop killing people in the Middle East for their oil.

This is what I read in Mr. Andersons letter.

"blah, blah, blah Liberal retoric, blah, blah, blah Bush bashing blah, blah blah anti war".

I bet if Clinton had invaded Iraq, you would say the deaths of our troups would be justified.

The troops signed up for service. They weren't drafted. They know the dangers and are willing to serve their country accordingly.

Keep watching "Price is Right" and "Regis and Kelly" Mr. Anderson. It's the perfect distraction to get you thru your day!
