A search for a runaway Leavenworth County teen led to a drug bust Monday morning at a local hotel, according to police.

Leavenworth County officials asked Lawrence Police on Monday to help find the 17-year-old girl. Police saw her vehicle in the parking lot of the Virginia Inn, 2903 W. Sixth St., said Sgt. Dan Ward, a department spokesman, and found the girl in a hotel room with a 20-year-old Lawrence man.

Also in the hotel room was marijuana and LSD, according to a report. The man was booked into jail about 10:30 a.m. for contributing to a child's misconduct, possession of LSD with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, failure to pay a drug-tax stamp and related charges.

As of Tuesday, prosecutors had not filed formal charges against the man.
