Eudora — Most of Eudora was without power for a few hours Monday night and city crews were still working on the problem at 10:30 p.m.
A woman with the city's after-hours answering service said the outage initially affected two-thirds of the city when it occurred about 7:30 p.m. Information from some Eudora residents the Journal-World talked to indicated areas of southern and eastern Eudora did not lose power
At 10:30 p.m. more people had their power restored but there were still areas west of Church Street in the dark, the answering service said. It was not clear what caused the outage. The answering service said it had received 400 calls from people reporting or asking about the outage between 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Eudora purchases electricity from Westar Energy but has its own city electrical crews to work on the power system.
