Crash victim released from hospital

The driver in a one-vehicle rollover accident Wednesday on Kansas Highway 10 just west of Eudora has been released from an Overland Park hospital while another Lawrence woman involved remains hospitalized in fair condition.

Havah Tamizi Jazaieri, 22, who was flown to Overland Park Regional Medical Center and placed in intensive care Wednesday, was later discharged, an official said Friday.

Passenger Hagar Tamizi Jazaieri, 25, who was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., was in fair condition Friday, a St. Luke’s official said.

At about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the women were eastbound in a 1999 Toyota 4Runner when the driver attempted to evade traffic created while firefighters fought a grassfire south of the highway. The vehicle overturned several times, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Medical personnel took two children passengers Rahseem Dowdell, 8, and Kammal A. Dowdell, 1, to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where they were later treated and released Wednesday.
