Law enforcement report

Lawrence Police said Tuesday that in the past 24 hours they handled:

¢ 286 calls

¢ 35 reports

¢ three burglaries

¢ eight thefts

¢ six non-injury accidents

¢ three injury accidents

¢ Lawrence Police arrested a 36-year-old Lawrence man Monday night on suspicion of stabbing his 31-year-old brother in the arm and shoulder blade with a screwdriver. The incident happened about 8:20 p.m. Monday in the 2500 block of Redbud Lane. The man was charged Tuesday with aggravated battery.

Burglaries and thefts

¢ A 26-year-old Lawrence man reported his king-sized bed worth $1,000 stolen between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday from the 1300 block of Connecticut.

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported the following responses:

¢ Natural gas leak, 8:41 p.m. Monday, 528 Kansas.

¢ Smoke detector malfunction, 6:04 p.m. Monday, 1740 Watkins Center.

¢ Fire call, canceled, 12:35 p.m. Monday, 1 Riverfront Plaza.

¢ Smoke or odor removal, 2:20 a.m. Monday, 1524 R.I.
