Presidential Libraries stamp unveiled
The U.S. Postal Service is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Presidential Libraries Act of 1955. The dedication of the Presidential Libraries commemorative postage stamp will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in Abilene.
A limited number of collectible First-Day-of-Issue programs affixed with the stamp and bearing a specially designed postmark with President Eisenhower’s signature will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis.
A temporary Post Office inside the Eisenhower Library will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will offer the new stamps, and stamp-related souvenirs of 12 U.S. Presidents.
