Topeka ? Free State High’s boys golf team placed 14th and Lawrence High’s 17th in the 21-team Topeka West Invitational on Monday at Topeka Country Club. Blue Valley North won the event with a team score of 310. Free State fired a 357, while LHS fired a 370.

The Lions were led by junior Levi Oxford, who shot an 87.

“Our scores are coming down slowly,” LHS coach Ron Commons said. “Hopefully we get some good weather in the next couple of weeks and our scores continue to improve.”
