To the editor:

Kansas, as bigoted as you think. I can’t begin to say how sick I am of hearing and seeing that statement. Many who believe this statement probably moved here to attend KU or attempt to play the “Kansas farmer.” You come here and want to change everything. If you don’t like the way most “true” Kansans feel about gay marriage and all the other things that have “kept Kansas behind the times,” maybe you should move to a more “liberal” state.

Remember, Douglas County does not speak for the other 104 counties in Kansas. I was born here, went to school here, and I work here. I didn’t flock here to attempt to change the way Kansans live their lives. This is Kansas not California. We have tornadoes, wheat and a strong conservative base. The progressive, liberal left will never change my way of life.
