Lee’s Summit N. 17-7, LHS 7-4

Lee’s Summit, Mo. — Lawrence High’s baseball squad’s bats came alive late, but it wasn’t enough in a pair of losses to Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North High on Saturday.

The Lions fell in the first game, 17-7, then lost the nightcap, 7-4.

“Lee’s Summit North could flat swing the bat,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “They were pretty impressive offensively. We didn’t play very hard-nosed baseball, but out kids didn’t give up because in both games we made it interesting late.”

LHS (1-4) will play host Tuesday to Shawnee Mission East.
