Topeka ? Dustin Nye scored three goals, leading Free State High to a 3-0 soccer victory over Topeka High on Tuesday at Topeka Soccer Complex.

Nye, a senior forward, scored off an assist from Alex Clayton 20 minutes into the game, off an assist from K.J. Siebert with 15 minutes left, and again off an assist from Aaron Ideus with seven minutes left.

Nye has six goals and two assists this season.

“He’s lived up to the expectations we’ve had for him,” Firebirds coach Jason Pendleton said.

Senior Aaron Williams recorded his sixth shutout in goal. Clayton and Andrew Heck were cited for strong play.

“It was a big victory for us,” Pendleton said.

Free State will travel Thursday to Shawnee Heights.
