Safety suggestions

After living in Lawrence for five and a half years and spending numerous hours with Kaw Valley Soccer Assn. and Free State soccer, this is long overdue.
One idea to slow down traffic at the South Lawrence Trafficway and 27th Street is to place, 1/4 to 1/2 mile out, an amber alert signal alerting drivers that there is a red signal ahead. Also, drop the speed limit to 45 mph-55 mph one mile or a half mile out from the intersection. No one is doing 65 mph on this road anyway. Lastly, ENFORCE it.
With family still in Lawrence, I think this would make that stretch much safer.
