To the editor:
I am so grieved and concerned about the biased article that was published in your (Sept. 10) newspaper concerning the care at Brandon Woods’ facility! I’m a current resident at Brandon Woods plus I’m a 46-year-old with all my faculties and I’m a licensed practical nurse, but first allow me to address the patients’ concern of care.
I believe all these concerns should be addressed through the proper channels. I believe as a patient that this facility offers loving and caring concern for all its patients.
About nine months ago, I was transferred to Brandon Woods from an abusive and neglectful facility and my stay has been great. I have enjoyed living in peace, and I believe my care and the care for all others has been very loving and attentive. As soon as my family and friends read this article in your newspaper my phone has rung nonstop. I didn’t appreciate this article because it caused undue concern and worry for my family and me. What I did want to know is did you consider the concerns of the residents and people who work here, where I might add they do a very good job, or did you write this article to cause a mass notoriety and much havoc and ill will toward a very nice and caring facility?
I believe this article was written with a slanted, biased opinion and that it was poorly investigated. If another article must be written in the future, please talk with all the patients including me!

Lawrence
