The week: Kellerman was the workhorse on a smashmouth Lawrence offense that played its best football of the season Friday in a 28-14 loss to Shawnee Mission North. Kellerman rushed 29 times against the Indians and bruised his way to 154 yards and two TDs. His most impressive stretch was the game’s opening drive, when he, Matthew Stiles and the offensive line combined for 85 yards rushing.

The week: Goleman continued to contribute to De Soto’s powerful ground game, rushing 25 times for 130 yards in De Soto’s 27-3 victory over previously unbeaten Central Heights. Goleman scored touchdowns from nine and 40 yards out to pull his team away, helping give the Wildcats three straight victories to start the season. Goleman already has seven touchdowns this season for the Wildcats.
