Sanders appointed to parole board
Topeka ? Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on Tuesday appointed a longtime Kansas Department of Corrections employee to the Kansas Parole Board.
Robert Sanders, 49, of Topeka, is currently a deputy secretary with the state prison system.
Sebelius said Sanders “brings a strong corrections background and unique understanding of the parole system” to the three-member board, which determines when parole eligible offenders can be released.
The appointment is subject to Senate confirmation. The position pays $101,903 per year.
