Good deed

To the editor:

On a recent Sunday, I left church to run several errands with my daughter and nephew. With a to-do list emerging in my head and trying to block out all unnecessary ramblings in the back seat, I went through my bank ATM. As I pulled up I withdrew some money and drove away to continue with the rest of my shopping, etc.

Upon my return home I went across the street to chat with a neighbor when we both noticed a police car pull into my driveway. Puzzled, I meandered over with my curiosity piqued. An officer had gotten out of the car and called me by my first name. After I replied yes, I was who I was and showed him my ID, he presented me with my ATM card and receipt! Apparently, someone had found this in the ATM and then tried to flag me down to return it.

To the honest person who found my card, words cannot express my gratitude. Bless you and thank you! Also, to the lengths at which the officer took to return it to me, you are aces! Needless to say I will be paying much closer attention to my ATM card in the future.
