Wasted space
To the editor:
The candidate profiles and election guides that the Journal-World has been providing are greatly appreciated and fulfill an important need in this election season. However, I wonder why a large fraction of the space in the little boxed profiles is given to the candidate’s age, religion and marital status.
If I were conducting a job interview it would be completely inappropriate for me to ask about age, religion or marital status. So why is this considered vital information about these seekers of political office? I’d like to see more space given to the candidates’ positions, experience and education.
