Judge doubted

To the editor:

In response to Michael E. Riling (Public Forum, Oct. 20), yes, a precedent should be set to question future retention votes for judges. To blindly vote to retain judges seems illogical to me.

The question a lot of folks have been asking is how can we make an informed decision on whether to retain a judge or not? Should it be based on how many times their verdicts have been reversed or how many times they have deviated from sentencing guidelines? I’m not sure how to make an informed decision on every judge. But I do know that I have seen enough evidence to suggest that Judge Martin has made enough questionable decisions that her retention should be in doubt.
