The two candidates running for the 3rd District seat on the Douglas County Commission will respond to questions from voters next week in separate online chats on ljworld.com.

Jere McElhaney, the Republican incumbent who is seeking a second four-year term, will chat at 3 p.m. Monday. (Submit a question early for McElhaney.)

In the Nov. 2 election, McElhaney faces Marguerite Emerling, a local veterinarian who is running as an independent candidate.

Ermeling will chat online at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. (Submit a question early for Ermeling.).

Transcripts of the chats will be posted online through the Nov. 2 election.
