Islamic hospitality
To the editor:
I would like to express a public thank-you to the Islamic Society of Lawrence for the open house they held on Oct. 12. Many Lawrencians took advantage of the opportunity to meet with members, tour the facility, taste the food and obtain the written materials about Islam that were provided.
It is only through knowing our neighbors as individuals that understanding and peace among nations can begin to occur, and the hospitality and information shared by our Muslim friends should go a long way toward those goals. Thank you all!
