The Lawrence City Commission will receive a request to allow local officials to participate in the Integrated Emergency Management Course in Emitsburg, Md.

Background

The course is a four-and-a-half day exercise aimed at simulating a crisis; Douglas County and Lawrence officials would go to Maryland in early December for the training.

c) Ordinance No. 7709 , rezoning a tract of land approximately 1.0181 acres from agricultural district to planned residential development district.   • Adopt findings of fact; approve rezoning requests; authorize drafting of ordinances for placement on future agenda:

  • Approve preliminary development plan for Sixth Street and Monterey Way planned commercial development, for revisions to Phase C-1A. The commercial development proposes permitting auto sales in an enclosed building. This development contains approximately 20.87 acres.   • Consider approving CPA-2004-01 and receive Planning Commission recommendation to amend Comprehensive Plan (Horizon 2020) to amend the Major Thoroughfares Maps (Figures 14 and 15) to designate two additional east-west arterials along the general alignment of the extension of Peterson Road west to George Williams Way and the extension of Stetson Drive to Wakarusa Drive.
