Shawnee ? Free State High’s volleyball team bounced back from a loss to host Shawnee Mission Northwest to thump Kansas City (Mo.) Metro Academy and Olathe Northwest in a volleyball quadrangular on Thursday.

SM Northwest won, 28-26, 26-24, but the Firebirds rallied for a 25-16, 25-10 victory over Metro Academy and a 25-12, 25-12 rout of Olathe Northwest.

Jenny Heppert had 15 kills and 16 blocks, and Katelin Karlin had 20 kills and nine blocks for FSHS (20-6).
