Run-off river

To the editor:

Water, rocks and trash. Oh MY!

I live in a nice area south of campus. We have been facing an ongoing problem with a neighboring apartment complex. The southeast corner of their parking lot deposits a water runoff that resembles an open fire hydrant. As a result of this, our street looks like a rock quarry and landfill after it rains.

Not only does this produce garbage, but it also has contributed to flooding my garage, deteriorates the curb and results in the development of a south campus lake in our yards (didn’t think we were zoned for a lake).

City officials were contacted by my next-door neighbor and have seen the problem area. They said that the complex should fix the problem as there is an ordinance against such water runoff and they would contact the complex management. That was two months ago. Is the problem fixed? NOT.

Guess all laws, ordinances and rules don’t apply to everyone. You do the math. We just want the problem fixed.
