Bad company?

To the editor:

Excellent article by columnist David Shribman Sept. 14 concerning vehement supporters of politicians.

However, the angry man title should not go to Zell Miller. That honor surely belongs to Al Gore, who is rampaging about the country ranting and raving.

He is apparently very bitter because he twice had to concede defeat in the last election.

When we see him with his face contorted with rage and fury and in what appears to be uncontrollable anger, many people are thanking God that he never made it to the White House, and he is not helping Kerry’s cause.

In Boston, there were no supporters of President Bush attempting to disrupt the convention but, in New York, Kerry’s supporters tried their best to cause problems for the Republican Convention.

Making a mockery of our service men and women who have died in the line of duty by parading with cardboard coffins got Kerry no votes.

Men and women with pig faces wallowing on the streets did not garner support for their candidate.

Sneaking into the convention to disrupt the speeches even to the point of screaming “kill Bush” while the president was speaking did not move undecided voters to the Kerry camp.

Junkyard dogs may guard what they have but they don’t encourage people to come around, and the antics of the lunatic fringe may create press coverage but not support for their cause.

If a person is known by the company he keeps, John Kerry has some problems.
