Mature thinking

To the editor:

In the Sept. 28 Journal-World coverage of “Teens offer perspectives on faith” Sarah Robinson, a student at Southwest Junior High School, shared very impressively her views on the subject of religious agnosticism.

Sarah’s mature level of thinking concerning religious faith (or doubt) is a refreshing and rare discovery in today’s world, especially coming from a person her age. She is to be commended for her astute and questioning style of thinking and obviously for her courage to be different in the expression of views that are out of the mainstream. Above all, she should be supported and encouraged in her evolving ideas about religion and the world around her, which is the intent of this letter.

Thank you, Sarah, for providing some needed balance of religious views in the Faith section of our Lawrence newspaper.
