A proposed increase in city water and sewer rates will be discussed at a Lawrence Chamber of Commerce meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, 325 Maine.
Chamber officials are seeking comments from businesses and other utility users who may be affected by the rates. City commissioners earlier this month deferred a decision on increasing water and sewer rates. Some proposals that commissioners are considering would increase water bills for large users by approximately 20 percent and sewer bills by about 18 percent.
The meeting is open to the public, but chamber officials request that people reserve a space by calling the chamber at 865-4411.
