Universal enemy

To the editor:

Finally! After decades of struggle, our politically correct City Commission has given us a group of people who we can all discriminate against with impunity, a group of people to which one can feel vastly superior, individuals who can be called anything we like. They’re your neighbors, co-workers and, dare I say it, relatives. They can be denied their freedom, their right to run their own businesses as they see fit. They can be denied their livelihood. We can do pretty much whatever we want to them. They have no voice — at least no voice to which anyone will listen. They are such social outcasts; we need not treat them with any regard whatsoever.

The self-righteous, left wing, right wing, Democrat, Republican, REJOICE! You have been given a gift. You now have the smokers and bar owners on which to openly, happily, heap your scorn and closet need for discrimination. Doesn’t it feel wonderful? Ahhh, Democracy.
